Favorite Memories

I have made lots of great memories this school year, but I have three favorite ones. My first favorite memory is crocheting in class with my friends for my 20% project. We would be laughing and talking and it was very fun. It was cool to just be able to talk and work on our projects instead of reading a textbook or doing an assignment. We were all crocheting for our projects so we were able to help each other and relate to each other. My next favorite memory is going out to the quad for tutorial with my friends. Whenever we would go out to the quad for tutorial, we would always have so much fun. Most of the time we wouldn’t have any homework to do, or if we did we finished it quickly. So, we were just able to have fun by talking. We wouldn’t have to worry about disrupting other people since it was outside and most of the other other people in the quad were talking too. My final favorite memory is when we had a global day of play during homeroom and tutorial. It was very fun because me and my friends were playing card games and just laughing and having fun. We also got ice cream sandwiches as a treat. We also went outside with our other friends and played volleyball with them. It was super fun to just mess around instead of having to worry about schoolwork. It was very fun to make all these memories with my friends. This school year has been filled with so many great memories!

Crocheting – 20% Project, Week 6

For week six of working on my 20% project, I continued to crochet the bear that I was crocheting last week. I finished the head and started on a new body. This week, I was struggling when I realized that I made the body too small and the head too big. It looked very weird. So to fix this, I decided to make a new, bigger body so it would look better and the head would be able to fit on the body. I finished about half of the new body and I will try my best to finish the rest of the body today and tomorrow. When I first made this bear I was planning on it being small, but now it will be bigger because I am making a new body. Next week, by Wednesday, I will finish crocheting the bear I am making, and finish decorating my trifold. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog this week!

Money Does’nt Buy Happiness

This image has a strong message. This image is of two boys who lead very different lives. The boy on the left is in a nice house and has lots and lots of toys and stuff. Whereas the boy on the right is outside with no shoes and only one toy. The boy on the left is very sad and bawling because he will never be satisfied with what he has. He will always want more and more. But, the boy on the right is very happy even though he doesn’t have much. He appreciates what he has more because he isn’t expecting to get more stuff. He is just satisfied with his one toy that brings him joy. The caption is saying that if you always expect to get more and more stuff then you won’t ever be happy because you won’t think what you have is enough. The boy on the left is sad because thinks that he needs more stuff in order to be happy. But, this is not true. The new stuff might keep him happy for a little while, but then he will think it is not enough again and want more. The boy on right is happy because he is satisfied with what he already has. He isn’t spending time being sad longing for more stuff like the boy on the left. He is happy with what he already has even if it isn’t much.

Starting Something New – 20% Project, week 5

For week five of working on my 20% project, I continued to crochet the pink stuffed bear I started to crochet last week. I finished crocheting the whole body of the bear and started to work on crocheting the head of the bear. Luckily, I did not have any struggles or set backs this week. This gave me more time which is why I was able to get a lot of things done this week. Since I didn’t have any struggles while crocheting this week, there were not any adjustments that I needed to make. Next week, I will hopefully finish the head of the crocheted bear I am making, stuff the bear, and then, connect the crocheted bear’s head to the body I crocheted. I hope you had fun while reading my blog for the fifth week of working on my 20% project of crocheting! See you next week!

Rad Reading – April

This month, I read If He Had Been With Me by Laura Nowlin. It is from the perspective of a girl named Autumn. Autumn and Finn were best friends growing up, but they grew apart. But, the crash never would have happened if Finn had been with Autumn that night. Instead though, he was with his girlfriend who he got in a fight with on that drive. Finn was unharmed, but Sylvie wasn’t so lucky. No one ever talks about what they were arguing about, they think it’s not important. But, what they were arguing about explains everything.

I really enjoyed reading this book. The writing was very descriptive so I could picture the story very well. But, the book was very sad. I really liked the characters because they had good personality’s and seemed like real people who could really exist. I liked how this book was realistic because something like this could actually happen to someone. I would really recommend this book if you want a good, sad romance/realistic fiction novel.

My favorite character was the main character, Autumn. Autumn was very kind and didn’t care what others thought of her. A character trait she has is hopeful. A quote to prove this would be “…I know, I know, I know. If he had been with me, everything would have been different.” This quote shows how Autumn thinks that Finn wouldn’t have been in that crash if they were together. She can hope forever that it would’ve been different, but she never would’ve known for sure what would have happened.

My favorite quote from this book is, “I could close my eyes and believe that we have never been apart. I could invent a new past to remember.” I really like this quote because it shows how Autumn has always wanted to be with Finn. She has wanted to be with him her whole life and regrets wasting time being afraid.

My Favorite Room

My favorite room in my house is my own room. The first reason why it is my favorite is, that it has all my favorite things in it. For example, I have a volleyball, books, and my dogs in my room. I can use these things whenever I want when I am in my room. I can do lots of things in my room that might not be as fun in another room. My second reason for my room being my favorite room, is that it is very comfortable. In my room I can sit or lay in my bed, my hammock chair, or on the floor. I also have a fluffy rug in the corner of my room with pillows around it which I can sit on. I can read or go on my phone in any of these very comfortable places in my room. My final reason for my room being my favorite is that, it is private. My room is very peaceful and quiet because my family only comes in sometimes. But, if I was in the kitchen or the living room, it would be very noisy and my brothers would probably annoy me. These are three of the reasons why my own room is my favorite room in my entire house.

Crocheting – 20% Project, Week 4

For week four of working on my 20% project, I decided to change my goal of crocheting a sweater for my dog, to crocheting a stuffed bear. So, I started crocheting a bear stuffed animal for one of my family friend’s two year old kid. This has been going very well so far and I am excited to continue. I was struggling to crochet the sweater for my dog because it had a bunch of different crocheting techniques that I don’t know how to do yet. So, I decided to make the bear instead because it isn’t as hard and uses most of the crocheting techniques that I practiced. But, it will still challenge me since I am new to crocheting. Next week, I will continue to crochet the stuffed animal bear. Even though I changed a few things this week, the bear has been very fun to make. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog! See you next week!

Crocheting – 20% Project, Week 3

For week three of working on my 20% project, I watched some more videos on different crocheting techniques that I will use for my dogs sweater. I also started crocheting the neck of the sweater. This was going well until I tried it on my dog. The neck was too small so I may have to redo the whole thing. When I originally made it, it was too small so I added on to it, but then it was too big. So, I undid some of it to make it smaller. Now, it is too small and I will have to add on to it. To fix this, I will remeasure my dog to see how big I need to make the neck of the sweater, and then I will add on to it to make it bigger. Next week, I will finish crocheting the neck of my dogs sweater and start crocheting the body of it. Although I struggled a bit this week, it was very fun to start crocheting the sweater for my dog and I am so excited for it to be done. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog! See you next week!

Practicing Crochet – 20% Project, Week 2

For week two of working on my 20% project, I watched a few more videos on starting a new row of crochet and also practiced crocheting by making crocheted bracelets for my friends. I also practiced crocheting a little bit at home. The bracelets went really well and I’m starting to get the hang of how to crochet now. I was struggling on finishing a crocheted bracelet because it would come undone when I would try to tie a knot. So, on the next bracelet I crocheted, I cut the yarn longer so I would have more yarn to tie the knot with. This worked well and fixed my problem. Next week, I will start crocheting the sweater that I want to make for my dog. I really enjoyed crocheting this week. It was super fun to be able to make things out of yarn. I hope you enjoyed reading this! See you next week!

Dinner Guests

I have been given the opportunity to invite three people to dinner. They can be dead, alive, famous, not famous, fictional, or real. It doesn’t matter it could be anyone. First, I would invite Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift is a popular singer/songwriter who has ten very well-known albums. I would want to invite her because she is one of my favorite singers and it would be very cool to meet her. Next, I would Invite my friend Ashlee. Ashlee is one of my best friends from school. I would want to invite her because she also loves Taylor Swift. And, it would make it way more fun to meet Taylor Swift if I had a friend there that also likes Taylor Swift. Lastly, I would invite Rory Gilmore. Rory, short for Lorelei, is one of the main characters from a tv series called Gilmore Girls. She is very smart and went to Yale. I would want to invite her because I really like that show and she is my favorite character. Also, it would be very cool to meet someone fictional that I’ve seen on tv. I would want the dinner to be at fancy restaurant but in a private section so there wouldn’t be a lot of paparazzi for Taylor Swift. These are the three people I would invite if I could invite any three people to dinner.
